PC Express Card

The Professional M4 is one of the most flexible laptops on the market. It supports PC Card Bus Type II, ExpressCard|54 and ExpressCard|34 cards. Using this slot, you can plug in the external professional audio interfaces from companies like E-MU and ECHO for professional recording solutions.

TV-Out/S-Video: This port allows you to connect an NTSC/PAL monitor.

Wireless LAN

Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG: The Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection is the integrated Wireless LAN (WLAN) solution integrated into every Professional M4. The Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG mini-PCIe card provides freedom and flexibility to work and play on the go without hunting for a phone jack, network cable, or plugging in a special card. Get connected through wireless LAN networks in your home, in the studio, and in wireless LAN hotspots in airports, hotels and coffee shops. Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG LAN card has a range of over 300 feet and operates a 5GHz UNII.

Gigabit LAN

Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Mbps is integrated von the Professional M4. Gigabit Ethernet, a transmission technology based on the Ethernet frame format and protocol used in local area networks (LANs), provides a data rate of 1 billion bits per second (one gigabit). Gigabit Ethernet is defined in the IEEE 802.3 standard and is currently being used as the backbone in many enterprise networks. In the context of the mobile musician or producer, this feature allows quick transfers between computers and fast network backups to FTP servers.

Modem

The Professional M4 comes with a V.92 modem. In a world dominated by Gigabit and wireless LAN, a Modem is still a valuable and useful communication device. A modem lets you send and receive faxes over phone lines and can get you on the internet in a blackout. V.92 is the new dial-up modem specification from the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) that introduces new features providing convenience and performance for the modem user.
