Power in the Palm of Your Hands
Smaller than a laptop Introducing the new “A” Series from Music XPC, possibly the smallest professional music computer in the world! We know that space may not always be and option, and poor computer performance is not an option. You might not need all what is in the C9 Series, but you need a professional music computer none-the-less. Compared to a Laptop, the A Series takes up ¼ of the real estate, in fact, it’s probably going to be smaller than the external drive you’ll connect to it if you need extra storage. One thing you won’t find less of is the quality, performance and durability that the MusicXPC brand has come to be known for. Try this one on for size and see how it fits.Stronger than a desktop Don’t make the size fool you, it’s every bit of a Music XPC than its older siblings and the processing power is just as good with the same reliable Intel chips, i5 in the A version, i7 in the A+ version. Respectively you have 4GB of DDR3 ram in the A version and 8GB of ram in the A+. We have tested it with applications that are demanding and very taxing on your everyday computer. Software programs such as ProTools and Photoshop that require powerhouse machines for the complex calculations, run smooth and effortlessly on the A Series Computer. Quietly going about its business, making music and putting and end to the age old adage, bigger is better. ![]() ![]() Making the Grade
Ideal for institutions Because of it’s small and compact profile, and it’s low cost, it makes a perfect computer for the class room as it does for the music studio. Many schools are going the route of the all in one computer because it takes up less space. The problem with this is that if the monitor gets damaged, you have to send back the entire computer to get fixed. The A Series can safely sit on a classroom desk with room to spare. For security purpose the chassis can be secured to the desk just like a laptop. And while the A Series from MusicXPC was built and designed with Music Production in mind, these computers function just as well for everyday use in school as well as multimedia applications. An entry level priced pro If price was the only strike against you buying a professional computer for your music production, then you seriously need to reconsider. A painter requires quality brushes to paint a pretty picture, your tools are important. So when you purchase a computer based on price rather than performance, you are putting yourself at a disadvantage by creating more work for yourself to try to achieve what you really want. The A in the A Series can stand for two things, Artist, which essentially is what you are, but it can also stand for Affordable, because we cater to not only the artist who had made a career, but also for the artist who has nothing on their way to achieve something. |
Pint-size Computing, Monster Output
The first computer (ENIAC) weighed 30 short tons and was roughly 8ft x 3ft x 100ft, took up 1800 square feet, and consumed 150 kW of power. Times have certainly changed and so has the personal computer, increasing in power and shrinking in size. I wonder what would the inventors John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert would say today if they saw the A Series MusicXPC? At just 4lbs, it measures a mere 16.7cm x 5.4cm x 16.7cm, which is probably smaller than one of the vacuum tubes in the ENIAC Computer. You would think a computer this small couldn’t possibly possess the power needed for audio recording or multimedia applications; we thought the same thing until our engineers took it through the paces. It’s definitely a MusicXPC. ![]() ![]() Small and green mITX design Mini-ITX motherboards are designed with rich functionality and reliable performance in a small footprint that measures just 170 x 170 mm. The highly integrated Mini-ITX platforms feature low power consumption of less than 100 Watts and have one basic expansion slot. They’re ideal platforms for fast-emerging markets where size and power efficiency is required. Impressed by the power, we immediately saw the potential in creating an affordable machine for not only musicians, but music enthusiasts as well.![]() SilentTek Quiet SilentBIOS/TEK is a sophisticated thermal-noise fan management system. The system allows the user to establish a feedback loop between CPU temperature, as reported by the CPU core thermal diode, and the voltage that controls the speed of the cooling fan(s). The incorporation of CPU thermal diode reporting of temperature gives the system a high degree of consistency and accuracy. SilentBIOS is embedded in the motherboard, accessed via the BIOS, and controlled by SilentTEK software running on Windows 7. ![]() Intel Quad Core w/HD3000 GPU The A Series uses the Intel Mobile Quad Core CPU, i5 or i7 depending on model. An Intel HD Graphics 3000 is directly integrated in the processor core of the Sandy-Bridge processors. And like its predecessor it does not have a dedicated graphics memory, but, can access the Level-3 cache of the CPU (which is now called 'Last Level Cache' - LLC) of up to 8 MB, depending on the CPU. Further memory requirements are covered by accessing the RAM of the computer. It also has a unit dedicated to decode and encode HD.![]() Built-in WIFI The Intel® Next-Gen Wireless-N product is an embedded 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N1 PCIe* Mini Card network adapter that operates in both the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz spectra. It delivers high throughput and a host of features that enhance today's wireless lifestyle. 40 MHz channels in the 5.0 GHz spectrum do not impact products that use the 2.4 GHz spectrum. It supports current 802.11n standard direction, allowing maximum performance without interfering with other wireless devices. Internet connection made easy. |
